The Mind Behind
Several significant injuries guided a seemingly destined purpose to heal through plants. This is far more complicated than eating or buying them at a store. It is delving into the sacred self and caring about the body temple. What makes for a healthy state of being - mind, body, and spirit?
What makes for an optimal chemical ingestion? What cultivation systems or processes will allow this to occur?
Perception dictates how we engage with the external environment. All of us humans are products of the environment through our ingestions. There are only two: nutrition and information. Nutrients could not happen without plants and the environment they need to survive and thrive in the interconnected web of life and survival. The noise and frequencies, as stimuli seen and unseen, in consideration of the mind or intent behind the message, well, that's a little concerning.
I believe food will be the gold of the future. Understanding the variables in growing edible plants optimally, is to ensure a healthy human metabolism and immunity. This is where I plan to evolve my expertise for the rest of days.
Is humanity becoming completely disconnected from nature? Is this a contributing factor to an unprecedented human health crisis? This health crisis occurs through the toxic chemistry producing stressors in the body. These stressors can produce inflammation and the inflammation causes systemic harm as the cause of sickness, illness, and disease. This harm is epigenetic - the result of external signals that make the cell react to those signals (dietary ingestion or the chemistry of thought/feeling).
A few details about me:
-
Growing up on a hog farm, hard work, responsibility, dependability, respect for life, and discovering the world of food, food production, and food processing. A unique relationship with the herd produced a greater respect for what goes into putting food on people's plates.
-
Athletics. My dad won Canada's Most Valuable Athlete in soccer. He beat out hockey players as a soccer player so all the trophies and newspaper articles were not just myths. He played against Pele. I had athletic aptitudes. My love was hockey. A body check threw me head first into the boards, and this event changed my life profoundly. Not reaching a potential always felt like a dismemberment of the soul.
-
Went to college working towards an insurance industry designation after leaving the farm shortly after the government testing to verify toxic feeds purchased for the hogs. Shortly thereafter, I made the transition into finance. A short time into training, I had a motorcycle accident. The MRI of the head and neck confirmed the level of pain experienced at the time of the hockey hit. The scan identified cracked vertebrae.
-
The motorcycle accident was two years of ugliness. It also developed a drug addiction to morphine and painkillers. I would also maintain that there is far too little emphasis on dealing with trauma, loss, pain, and the mental health components of it. Just as people are not taught to be parents, we are also not taught how to deal with trauma. This is what made me gravitate towards neurology, epigenetics, the state of being healthy, and, human identity.
-
I learned how feeling like I don't care is the beginning of the end of the choice of an empty life. It is just existing. What's the point then? What ya doing to make a contribution and make life meaningful? I do our relationship with (edible) plants because it is paramount to the future of humanity.
-
Not wanting an empty life, I have always immersed myself in personal development. Some of those who have helped to shape my mind and ideas of the world are: Tony Robbins, Jim Rohn, Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, Les Brown, Brene Brown, Wayne Dyer, Abraham Hicks, Joe Dispenza, Bruce Lipton and a host of others from resources like the movie "What the Bleep do We Know" and programs like Landmark Forum that lead into an interest in quantum physics and the chemistry of health and healthy states of being.
-
A diverse professional career around insurance underwriting, brokering insurance and securities, financial planning, law and contracts, business administration, political science, project management, business analysis, retail management, risk management, and now horticulture has created my commercial person.
